“As a composer and song producer, I feel like an actor who has mastered many different kinds of roles... What I love is visiting all these different genres and being the conduit for musically setting the scene, an alchemy of director, writer, artist and music...."

2018 Daytime Emmy Winner for best original song and 2015 Daytime Emmy Nominee, Eve Nelson brings heart and soul to every project.  She's a music incubator.  Like an actor taking on a role, she jumps in and embraces the personality of the project- body, mind and spirit.  Eve’s musical presence and versatility can be heard throughout her body of work. One music creative confessed that Eve is her “secret weapon.”

Eve’s musical background stems from her deep roots in R&B and gospel music.  She signed her first publishing deal with Zomba Publishing and broke out as a record producer with Jive Records.  She produced for artists such as Donna Summer, Angela Bofill, Darlene Love and Tremaine Hawkins.  Eve co-wrote "I Know You By Heart" covered by the late Eva Cassidy.  She also composed and produced advertisements and public service announcements for the NBA, bringing her R&B roots into the mix.

Eve “conducts” an enormous volume of talent in the record industry. Each score and arrangement are enhanced by her expertise and long-standing commitment to producing and developing new artists.  Eve’s background in music has given her that rare combination of talents- composing, songwriting, arranging, scoring and conducting. Eve brings her musical alchemy to each project, evidenced by her body of work- tackling many genres of music.  Working closely with artists has given her music scoring, producing and songwriting a refreshingly new perspective.

Eve has composed and song-produced for primetime series such as THIS IS US, AMERICAN HOUSEWIFE, CODE BLACK, THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT, THE RANCH, BLACK-ISH, SMILF, ARMY WIVES, BETRAYAL, GREY'S ANATOMY, THE OFFICE, SCRUBS, MODERN FAMILY, GHOST WHISPERER, REVENGE, JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE, THE CHEW, and more.

As producer and arranger on Chaka Khan’s critically acclaimed album classiKhan, Eve conducted the London Symphony Orchestra. Eve made such an impression that she was invited back to London to conduct the Orchestra for a special performance at the Royal Albert Hall.  Recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, classiKhan featured guest appearances by pianist, Joe Sample and percussionist, Sheila E. classiKhan was both a critical and commercial success, reaching #42 on Billboard's R&B albums chart.

Eve is currently in the studio working on Chaka's next project, a tribute album to Joni Mitchell.  She recently played piano with Chaka Khan on the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion stage for JONI 75, two all-star concerts dedicated to Joni Mitchell on her 75th birthday.  A film documenting the performances was released to theaters in early 2019, and an accompanying album is set to follow.

Classically trained, Eve was awarded the very first ASCAP Scholarship from Berklee College of Music (graduating with honors in 2 years).  Eve continues to give back to the music community by mentoring young alumni and hosting workshops entitled WOMEN IN TUNE.

Eve is an innovator with that rare combination of producer/composer who can capture the essence and emotion of pop, R&B, hip-hop, dance, classical and the heart-wrenching ballad.
